If I do a right click -> properties on my Dropbox folder, I get the following:

    Size: 30.0 GB (32,258,106,546 bytes)
Size on disk: 30.0 GB (32,270,368,768 bytes)

If I do a "hover over" with my mouse, I get:

    Size: 19.1 GB

    ---

If I inspect the subfolders manually, there are apparently 19.1 GB of data, and my Dropbox app is reporting 83.8% usage of 22.9 GB (this is very close to the 19.1 GB figure)

    What is going on here?

Check if there are any files you started downloading to that folder, but then cancelled the download. The file shell will still remain and report it's stated size to windows explorer even though the file was never fully downloaded. This happens a lot with torrents, where the torrent download will start but then the user will cancel the torrent but not delete the partially downloaded files. Those files then remain and report to windows explorer that they're full of data when really they're just empty file containers.
