I have tried to use Foobar a few times in the past and never got it to be something I was happy with. I see these fancy foobar setups and never can get close to emulating them.

So I stick with Winamp for my quality player, and for convience I really like Songbird due to how it lets me filter my music via the 3 tabs (Genre/Artist/Album)

Anyways I found this thing called FooAva the other day and its supposed to be a preset UI and easy to use. Tried it and it was cool but a few parts of it didnt work and worst of all it did not support embeded coverart. So it had to go.

When I was looking up support questions on FooAva it uses something called Panels UI and its outdated. I found another thing called Columns UI that is not outdated and so I gave that a shot.

When setting it up one of the "quick configurations" setup foobar in a way just like Songbird where I can filter my music. I was so happy to see this that I decided to keep it because now I can use WASAPI output and filter my music. Songbird has no good DSP plugins.

I kept diving deeper into the config menus and was able to change the background color and font color and selection color.

Ended up looking pretty good when I was done.

Later on figured out how to add the coverart to my library and even found a winamp visualization plugin for Columns UI.

So I am almost there, what I want to do now is change the colors for the rest of foobar to match the Colums UI colors I picked. Its still using generic windows colors as you can see in my picture below. Is there any way to change this?

Also I am trying to add a horizontal split after the library but before my little area in the bottom that has the visualization, track info and cover art box. I want the play/stop/pause/next buttons and a seek bar there but every time I try to add a panel there it just inserts as part of my bottom panel instead of between.

I'm pretty sure there are colour schemes in Foobar itself.

I've never given configuration much thought myself... one list for albums for me, and playlists in the other part of the window... done...

But there are different colour schemes in foobar itself - or I am missing what you are asking...

I've never been able to figure out how to change the menu bar color myself. It seems like you'd have to have the entire program skinned to have that changed.

On a side note, that looks rather complicated... at least compared to what I have.

I have also been looking for an answer to this...

Detlev, for refrence, take a look at my image. Using the built-in color selector, you can change the areas that are black. The parts with red arrows are the parts I (and I assume Vicious as well) want to change.

I know it is possible to do this, just no idea how or where to start.
