I got an SSD and using it to replace my HDD as the boot drive (clean windows install) and then use it as a storage drive. Before I wipe the drive, I cloned and imaged the drive. I want to make sure that cloning the drive and going through the user folder and other folders that is on the external and move them back to the HDD is okay

When I open the user folder that is on the external and I'm on the ssd, the initial opening asks for permission to open then takes fives minutes or so to allow me to access the contents. I assume this is normal and won't cause any problems. I know programs won't work but everything else should, right?

Open for any other options to do this.

Also, any specific way to format the drive?

    Thanks,
