Hello all, I'm new to the world of laptops and as such, this may be a bit of a dumb question:
I'm planning on getting a Dell XPS M1530, but I can only get it with Windows Vista. I don't care much for Vista, and I care even less for all the other junk that I assume will come pre-installed, so I would like to format the hdd, partition it to my liking, and instead install Windows XP SP2, which I have on CD.
Is this doable, or is there something preventing this from working?

There are tons of similar posts in this board, but if I were you I'd look around the Dell board. I'm pretty sure you'll find some very useful information there.
