Anyone who has searched around on google will tell you that finding a good Vista temp gadget is rare. Most will tell you you need Everest installed.
Couldn't find this with a search of the forums so I think I might be first to post it.
You need an Nvidia card and I think that might be all you need...

I've used this gadget on my desktop for awhile, it works pretty well, no additional apps needed.
There are more gadgets like this one available at The Hobby Lounge. I don't have enough posts yet to insert a link so just google it... -
Looks good - works on my 9500M GS, at least.
-
Oh cool. Im going to download and try it now.

Wow, great standalone gadget. Now, we just need one for CPU and SMART data.

Asking for rep is against the rules, please do not do it.
Thank you -

Has anyone tried running this alongside GPU-Z and if so how much do the temps differ if at all?

Hi.
I cannot see a way to keep it on top , so that it shows when playing games.

Seems to match GPU-Z pretty well, too.
And you might be able to get the GPU gadget on top at all times - just drag it off the sidebar onto the desktop, right-click on it and hit Always on Top.
EDIT: Never mind, if it doesn't go on top of that HDR orbiting-orbs thingie, then it won't go on top of games. -

The latest version of SpeedFan can display the temps of an Nvidia GPU. And you can choose any of the various temps to be displayed in the System Notification Area. I realize that is not the same thing as an "always on top", but if your game can be run windowed it would allow you to see the temps.
