Hope this isn't a repost...
http://adrive.com/ - 50GB of anything, create folders & organize files, move them from folder to folder if you please.
http://humyo.com/ - Web site Humyo offers 30GB of free online storage with a small and inconsequential catch: 25 of the 30GB must be media files, like photos, music and videos. The remaining 5GB are reserved for non-media files and documents. also download their desktop client and access your files on there as a drive on your pc.
http://www.thelinkup.com/ - formerly mediamax.com, another 25GB free (2GB filesize for each), public or password protected files.
Multiple emails = multiple accounts.
Just puttin' this out there for those that are looking to backup some data or anything.![]()
Also don't forget about using Gmail as a source for storing data.

Too risky to put your files on online storage, no thanks.

Anyone have experience with using these sorts of sites for semi long term?
I just signed up for the Adrive, but it does say its in beta. I am just uploading files as a second back up, so its not a big deal if it goes down really - but always better when something stays around.
Plus, you can access your files from any computer with internet connection, which is amazing!
Thanks for the post Blackmamba! -
What;s the difference between GSpace and the GMAIL drive extension?
-
I'm currently using Windows Live SkyDrive ( LINK). It doesn't offer as much storage but it's convenient and ties into my Hotmail account.
Thanks for the tip BlackMamba! -

ull also have a new partition in MY COMPUTER caed GMail Drive FTW -
Hmm, the gmail file store programs programs, both Gspace and another called Gdisk don't seem to be official from Google. So, that's a bit risky. I'm sure they'll come out with free storage solution soon enough tho and I'd rather not mess around with a 3rd party program that interacts with gmail if I can help it.
So far i've uploaded 2gb on the Adrive service. Most of my old school documents, all of my essential freebie computer programs that I use after a reformat and all of my pictures.
Seems to be pretty smooth.. but its not so much a backup as a way to remotely access your files. Who knows if Adrive is going to go out of business or are in fact stealing the info from your files for spy stuff! (drat.. they'll soon have access to some college undergraduate reports..).
I really can't wait till Google comes out with an OFFICIAL google internet disk space solution. -
100mb/s up and down ... thanks for the post of the links

So which online storage service is the best in everyone's opinion?
I used one a while back, but it was free to use for first year, then cost money after that. I never upgraded. It was kind of nice because it only uploaded when the system was idle, and you could throttle upload bandwidth. It took a while for first upload, like a week or so, but after that it would only upload changes made.
I can't remember what it was called, but it was convenient, just didn't feel like paying $50/year or whatever it was. That was probably about three or four years ago. Seems like there's more options these days and free options. Absolutely wouldn't use it as a primary backup, but great as a secondary in case your computer or house blows up and you can at least retrieve your important files and photos. -

Though, I'd rather use my own "online backup solution" with the help of live mesh and sync. 1TB+ "free" online storage which I can access anywhere around the world with transfer speed up to ~900Mbps on GbE. -

Skydrive is good, except they need to open up that multi uploader tool to other browsers besides IE. Also, where is Google's Gdrive?

An annoying thing about SkyDrive is that it limits file sizes to 50mb, otherwise it works great for what I use it for.
