Just downloaded and installed this free software that uses your built in webcam for facial recognition and logs you onto windows automatically. Very cool! They have both 32 and 64 bit versions. I'm running it on Win7 x64 with no problems so far.
Post if it works for you (or not).

Let's give it a try..already used veriface on my Acer, pretty awesome, but not on my HP...let's see how this works.
-
Great! I'm interested in your comparison.
Does Veriface run on Win7 x64? I'm surprised I didn't know about it as I have a ThinkPad. It is not in the downloads and drivers list for my model. -
It will work on a ASUS with XP installed? Well i'll try
-
Well, it has separate 32bit and 64bit versions, but only lists Vista and Seven. Guess you're the guinea pig!!
-
It works on the notebook in my sig, now im gonna go test out how secure it is with some pics
-
Good idea. There is a setting for high convenience or high security. It defaults to the former. If it logs on with your photo, try changing the setting.
-
Pstrisik: Do you have the fingerprint reader on your T510? If so, does this program override that as your login? Just wondering if there's any conflicts.
-
There was a thread around here that had the file...I have it too, I will try to upload it later...it worked on my Acer netbook, but not on my DV7...
-
I do have the fingerprint reader and it is enabled. I installed blink without changing anything in the fingerprint reader setup. If I look away so blink can't see my face, I can still use the fingerprint reader to log on or enter my password.
-
Many thanks for the info. I just loaded it and it runs fine so far on my W500. Great find!
-
Please let us know! I'm also downloading this program to test
EDIT: I installed it and restarted my computer. When it got to my logon screen, it took a while to load my camera. Then when the camera finally loaded, it wasn't able to log me onto my laptop. Maybe its because I don't have the best webcam. -
I found that the picture I took at the office worked fine logging me on there, but wouldn't at home. I'm trying a pic at home and see if it works at the office (it works at home).
-
i will give this a try also. did try veriface a while back but did work at all.
i also have a fingerprint reader which mostly works first but if it takes more than 1 swipe, i could have typed my password
-
Well..... I've disabled it. It sometimes takes to long to get the camera active when resuming from standby. Fingerprint reader is faster overall.
To be fair, I don't know if the lag in camera availability is a Blink! problem or one with the camera system itself. -
I also had a lag in my cam.
-
Ditto here as well. I also have a low light situation in one of the conference rooms at work and it has problems with that.
-
I think that was the problem in my home vs. work difference in recognition (same laptop).
. -
I used it on an Acer 1810TZ with a 0.3mpxl camera and it works great.Very neat,Thanks! ! !
-
The lag and the problems in low light has caused me to remove the app. Co-workers were looking at me weird when I had to pretty much shove my face in front of the camera before it would login. I do have it loaded on my MSI netbook however so I will keep testing it on that.
-
Ok, I tested it out for a few days and it turned out to be a real pain... on either setting, i could not bypass it with a picture, but it refused to log me in if I moved the laptop from where it was when I took the setup pic.
There was software from toshiba that worked well with my camera (the integrated in my dv7), I'll post it if I can find the link again.
