Thsoe don't seem to allow you to fill out the forms on a PDF...

It seems that you have ot buy a separate program separately?

Actually, that is quite a problem indeed. Only the 14 day trial allows you to edit PDF's, i'll take a look into this. I hope someone else can suggest something too.

I am not aware of a free program that you can use.

There are fairly inexpensive ones that allow you to edit as long as it is not a protected PDF. Nitro PDF PDF Editor Very PDF FoxIt Editor

I have had some success in converting them to jpg files and editing in a photo editor and saving them as a PDF file. Not a very workable solution.

There is a way if you use two free programs together in tandom.
Here is how it works :-->

Use Foxit reader free version to edit, This program will allow you to edit text etc but when you try to save, it will put a watermark.
So once you have edited, dont save but PRINT with Primo PDF and Voila, you have an edited pdf without a watermark.

Why don`t you try www.PDFfiller.com? It is may be the easiest way to fill in a pdf form. You should just upload your form and start typing. You can sign, email, fax or export your form as well.
Just one thing I would like to add: it is not free. But very inexpensive though! :) Will be very nice to hear what do you think. )

Both OpenOffice and Office 2007 have free add-on modules/extensions that let you import PDFs. Do your editing, then export the files as a new PDF.

And if you don't already have one or both of those office suites, you should.

OpenOffice was updated to v3.1.0 this afternoon. The total download is a hair under 150Mb.

You can use adobe acrobat reader to add text and fill out forms. It's free. The file size is less than 10MB.
