Can someone recommend me a free Dvd Decoder? I tried to watch a dvd on WMA but says I need a decoder and I don't see the purpose in paying 15 bucks just to watch a dvd! I would like one that supports widescreen format.

    Thanks,
    -Taylor

Unfortunately, that means you lose any Vista-specific DVD player software you had sent with your machine. It's illegal to play DVD's in the United States without paying a license to the proper authorities by buying the correct software (soon to be illegal in Germany the same way).

Both VLC and K-Lite Mega pack include DVD encoders, but as Pitabred said, there may be legal complications

Agreed with hehe, just download VLC Media Player or Media Player Classic.

You won't run into any legal troubles.
