They rewrote the kernel of Win NT, me and a few others have been testing this, its compatible with a lot of Windows drivers and apps.
Still in early alpha, but so cool.
Especially since its 91MB for the live cd![]()
or 30 for the install cd(gives you a more Win XP like experience).
May be an alternative for you Vista haters(including me).

WINE moochers i say. I may take a look at the LiveCD though.
-
Thanks, I'm gonna try to install it on my 2gb eeepc when it comes.
-
Um, how could they have rewritten the NT kernel, when the source code isn't even available?
-
It boots on 128MBs RAM in 2 seconds.
That's fast. -
Good article Calvin.
But still, without the original source, sure you could emulate a lot of things, but not get it exactly right.

Reverse Engineering can land one in a world of hurt
-
The API is free, thats why Wine could do it.
Maybe they didn't reverse engineer it, I'm gonna email them. -
If this thing becomes popular, I can see a priced future.
However , for corporate bussiness, Windoze will be the base... -
Either way its open source.
I'll buy it, rebrand it and rerelease it as free, they cant do anything to me for it. -
Doesn't work for me
.
Both the Live CD & install CD turn to a black screen with no hard drive (let it sit for 10 minutes) activity within 20 seconds of booting.
This laptop had trouble with a few programs (remember my Linux Mint not working last week).
Maybe I'll be able to use it by the time they make version 1.0
To the post below, I vote for Thomdows -
that's true. And you can call it whatever you like.
How`s Thomux sound? or Thomdows? -
