With GAOTD you not only have to download it, you must install it by the deadline. I believe the deals expire at midnight PACIFIC time. Give us Easterners a bit of extra time.

Why is it a waste of time? These are one day promotions to get folks to try the app and spread the word if they like it. I have downloaded about a half a dozen excellent apps from GAOTD the past couple of years. I have also gotten some real stinkers too that I uninstalled.

One day to install + free to use forever or 15 days to try it then have to buy it. I like the first option. I do see your point, I would prefer to be able to install it when I want. But free is nice.

Most of the apps that show up on GAOTD do have the trial period you are talking about if you miss the timeline.

Not if you save the installer and capture the registry changes they make. (Only works for SOME of their apps.) ;)

What does work is keeping an image of your C: drive so even if you do need to reformat, you don't ever have to reinstall, just recover an image

Yep new stuff every day. They have another site that gives away a game a week. It has been going for over a year (maybe two or more). How long will it continue? If I could predict the future like that, I'd be on a tropic island somewhere sipping from a huge cooler full of IPA's.
