Looking for suggestions from your personal experience on free software that securely deletes (i.e. overwrites) files. (If I somehow missed this on the sticky thread "best software" please point it out to me thanks)

I do encrypt my files, but I am just looking for something to securely delete some old text files with passwords and other information of that sort.

edit: to be clear, not looking to wipe out a HD =)

Also it should be compatible with 32 bit vista? Eraser doesn't appear to support Vista OS
