I always like 8 out of 10 times getting freezing when shuting down window vista business. It just hang at the page which show "window is shutting down" and i wait and wait and wait... still won't turn off...everytime i have to end up with holding the switch button to turn it off.

Can someone please tell me what's going wrong?

Vista has problems shutting down and coming out of hibernate, it's like hit or miss right now.

Only solution really is waiting for SP1 and hopefully those issues will get fixed.

Try looking at this blog post. It shows how/where to look in the log for debugging startup and shutdown issues.

It won't hurt the drive physically, but it can corrupt files on the drive. Nothing backups and a re-install can't fix.
