    Hi all,
    as always I beg ( :) ) your help.

    I have a Samsung laptop with 17' monitor and full-hd resolution (1920x1080).

The DPI are setted to 125% (as almost always computer in world).
I have a problem: the chars but also the icons of the software I use (Office, Photoshop, FastStone, Foobar, etc.) are very small.
They are not so small that you can't work but they are unconfortable for eyes and for work.

I have other cheap notebook in my office and they are with the same monitor size but with lower resolution (I think 1280x960 or 1378x960 or something).
They are also setted to 125% in DPI but with them, I can work very better on them.

I am the one that accuse this problem? What I can do to solve?

I tried in the past to use DPI to 150% but many programs are not displayed good or they even go crazy and show their icons even smaller (i.e. Faststone).

    I wonder what to do.

There isn't much you can do to "fix this" unfortunately.

If you have no eyesight problems, you should get used to it with a bit of time. I used to think that everything was extremely small when I went from 1440x900 to FHD, but I got used to it and now, I'd never go back. Of course, it depends on how far from the computer you are, but personally, being 2-3 ft away which is pretty normal for a laptop is fine.

Some programs do allow you to zoom like MrDJ suggested, but that probably won't work with everything.

Just wait till the 17" 4k monitors are popular. The size of the fonts will be the size of the period on the end of this sentence. So the only way you would be able to read the fonts is to reduce the resolution to something like 1280x800 which is what I have done on my high res laptop monitor. I adjust it back to native resolution (1920x1200) when doing video editing. .
