Is there a toggle or driver I can download that would enable this feature? The function key works because I'm able to adjust brightness and other functions via the f-line of keys. My keyboard (letters) are functioning just fine outside of when I attempt to use the function numerical pad on the keyboard. I hope this makes sense. I wasn't sure where else to post this so I appologize in advance if it's in the wrong forum. I'm using a HP L2005us.

This may be a stupid question, but do you have Numlock on?

On my Dell i4150, I had to turn on numlock THEN use the Fn key to use the keypad. Eventually (though I don't remember how) I switched it so I didn't have to hold down the Fn key to use the keypad.

Ha, boy do I feel like a idiot. Hitting function-numlock turned on the numerical pad without having to hold down the function key. I didn't even think to look for a numlock key because of the lack of physical keypad. Many thanks for pointing that out to me.

No problemo :) Like I said, I did pretty much the same thing when I first got mine. There's probably a BIOS setting or something so you can simplify the whole process (perhaps by taking the Fn key out of the equation).

I think it's gotta be something in the bios of my Dell. I say that because whatever it was I changed, I did it years ago. Also, I've reformatted numerous times and have never had to reset the feature.

For the dell systems (not sure about other manufacturers), reboot your laptop, press f2 to go to the BIOS/Setup. Expand the major category second from last (i think it is about securyity or post, can't remember exactly). You'll see an option for FN settings, and you have a choice to either use numlock to use the keypad or FN+numlock.

You'll want to select just numlock and save/exit the BIOS.
