This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Open a mp3 in quicktime media player.

    get a good 10 seconds into the song.

    shake the window of quicktime.

    It stops working just like CD players did when you shook them!

    That's probably an interrupt in your graphics driver taking control, slowing down sound processing. If you start another media player, and then do the same thing with quicktime, I'll bet it'll still stop the sound.
