This guide works for both 32 bit and 64 bit version of Windows 7 by the way :)

I wouldn't consider this a guide. Same with your other thread.

the actual guide is within the zipped file in the download link....

it is very basic stuff that you need to follow to enable them both, and they're really cool

Not sure what went wrong. I'm running 64bit W7 RC1, tried the mod twice and each time I was unable to run Aero even after reboot. Used System Restore to get Aero back. I was able to get the blue progress bar but only under basic or classic view, not Aero.

hmmmm could it be that you're using the RC? I have successfully installed it within a min on RTM 64 bit Win 7 pro

I don't know. I used the beta and now the RC. No longer have the beta to test it on. I'll try it again when I get my upgrade I pre-ordered.

Like I said, it worked but I lost Aero. Couldn't reactivate it even after two boots so I just restored to get back to Aero. No harm done.

I knew I had seen it before. Had the same problem with it then as well. Oh well, still like W7 better than my Vista & XP, even with a green progress bar!

How about making a file available that doesn’t require third party software to open?

Native ZIP file support has been in every version of Windows since XP.

He's talking about the progress bar that is superimposed on icons in the taskbar. Copy a large file and watch the green flood over the explorer icon on the taskbar.

    Hahaha. Sweet guide.
I'm not sure if I will try this out but I am indeed really sick of the green progress bar. Makes me puke.

    Come on folks, be nice.

Not all software is beneficial to everybody. That's the whole point of general purpose computers, huh ?

MaXimus please update you post and credit me for creating this in the first place!

I dont mind people sharing my packages and even modifying to make them more efficient etc. However i do mind if my work is being posted as their own by someone.

You can still see my tag at the bottom of the readme file in the archive that proves its made by me.The archive is a 1:1 copy of mine.
