I just bought a secondary 23" monitor. I want the new one to be a secondary monitor since I bring my laptop around to class and stuff a lot and I want the laptop screen to stay the primary monitor. However, when game I want it to open up onto the secondary monitor (like full screen games like Dragon Age and Borderlands). As far as I know this can only be done if the monitor is set up as the primary (which I dont want to do).

Btw I use a HP Dv5t with windows 7 ultimate os.

If you have an nVidia GPU you can use their software and set up some windows to open on the laptop screen and others to open on the secondary screen. I do not recall the name of this function, but will update the post later while at work as I use it there for 2 monitors.

You would need to download it, not sure if it is still available.
