Okay, I have a problem.
Yesterday, I got my XP installation disk out, and decided to install XP on my Brand new M-6873h. I slipstreamed the Intel SATA drivers into the instalation and during it, left the recovery partition alone. When I first got my machine, I made my recovery disks using the program provided.
My question is, why is there NO options to recover from either type of media?
I tried all the suggestions on the support.gateway site. Which includes holding down 'R', pressing F11, F8, and F1 at the start up screen. Tried booting from the first and second recovery disks. And even looked through the recovery partition, disks, and full service manual for the fix to get Vista back on. I even had the computer started up about 2 million times on a literal scale to see ANY option regarding 'RESTORE' or at least 'RECOVER'. It has gotten to the point where I nearly caps-lock attacked Gateway's tech support for saying I need to install a new copy of Vista with a NON OEM KEY!
It's not that I WANT Vista. I just want to have the security of knowing I can revert back in a flash for warrenty purposes and so on.
Can anyone help?
