So, by letting Microsoft spy on you indefinitely, you get a free program?

You have to sign up for the automated feedback program. From the second page on the site: "By signing up for both programs, you are eligible for a free product."

To those who doubt the veracity, MS did something similar before Vista launched. They had business users watch 4 webcasts and gave them the option of Office 2007 or Vista Business. That's how I got my copy of Vista.

I think its legit, I was about to sign up, but I don't really need any of those, and would just as soon not run extra software for 3 months. I have Office 2007 Enterprise, and Vista Ultimate, so no big deal to me that I can get them free (I have them free from my University).

They do give out stuff from time to time. I got Visual Studio 2005 Standard free for looking at 2 webcasts.

    Bah, that was a breeze.

I do 8-15 surveys a day as my "part-time" job. It's basically written in the same code.

Can't wait until I get my free Windows Vista (32/64-bit) disk... :)

@theZoid: I enrolled and I guess you do not get a confirmation that everything is ok but the fact that you download the feedback tool.
I went for office ultimate since I got Vista Ultimate already... and the german language pack is quite cheap :D

    Sweet, congrats ! :D

I've been on the program since the last of November right before the cutoff. I have some questions for those who have been on the program for a while.

    1) Is it true once you are on the Windows Feedback Program, Microsoft will automatically contact you for future surveys and gifts?

    2) Since my initial enrollment I took the first survey and haven't seen anything since. How many surveys did they send you to respond?

The feedback program is still good, but it doesn't say anything about free software.
