I don't use the one finger scrolling so I disabled it in the Synaptics settings, but now whenver I'm moving my finger on the mouse, it just stops when I get to about 1cm from the right hand side and about 1cm before the bottom.

I want my FULL touchpad area and not for it to cut off a cm from the side and bottom. How can I do it?

    Thx.

Go back to the syanptics settings and reenable scrolling, then drag the scrolling regions to zero, then redisable scrolling, this should give you the entire touchpad back

Thanks, that got rid of the bottom one. But not the right hand side.

try using scrybe and its synaptics drivers - it allows the use of two finger gestures and 3 finger gestures/click
    SYNAPTICS | Scrybe

with the drivers from that, I can disable all scrolling by just deselecting the checkbox
