You need drive software like Partition Magic to do what you want.

I use Symantec GHOST but Acronis has products that would work as well.

It's very much like Disk Management but with more options to shrink/merge/delete partitions, among other things.

Be careful with any partitioning software on Vista. Acronis says Vista compatible but I can't get it to work on my system and there are countless threads on the Acronis forum with angry people who bought it and can't get it to work or even install onto Vista. On XP it's awesome!

Partition Magic makes no Vista claim as I can see so I would not even go there. Honestly if I were you I'd do a reformat. The Vista file system is a finicky b1itch and messing with partitions is asking for trouble. Back up your data or make an image of your C: drive on external storage then reformat the whole disc with a clean install. I am sure there's a reformat guide for a T61p in here somewhere.

Vista has a built in backup utility that will clone your c: drive. You can find it in the control panel or from the welcome center. Some good info here on doing a drive img in Vista.

When you reformat your computer you will be wiping the entire disc so Linux will go bye bye.

Yes If you select C: like in the tutorial I linked you everything on that drive - programs, app settings, drivers, registry, documents... everything on it, will be stored as an image that you can restore from your Vista install disc. If you have another partition setup as maybe a Data drive like D:, you can select that too. But I am guessing you probably have everything on C:
