Is there a way to install say a game on XP partition and be able to play game on either XP or Vista? I don't really care to install the same programs twice and have to configure each.

Of course now I say that, you have to have separate updates to correct xp problems and vista problems.

    Any ideas?

Well if you have everything in one folder, it's possible.

It really depends on the game, if it requires Registry, etc.
You might have to copy the saved files directory (which most games usually put in the Documents section) over to Vista under the same directory.

I have been able to do with some, but others seem to hang.

I knew that the registry would be one problem. No shortcuts on the start menu is another. And saves.

FEAR is one game that I wanted to try on both Vista and XP when I get my system. I heard that FEAR sucks on Vista and wanted to keep tabs on some of the games that don't work well on Vista. When they get to the point that they are equal to or better than the XP counterparts I will switch over.

I may just watch the forums and see what the updates say about compatibility with Vista.
