O.K. heres the deal i have a sister and she had a hp pavillion a1657c it had windows media center installed on it and an amd dual core processor on it and for some weird reason when she accidentally bumped it it stopped working altogether so she called hp and low and behold her warranty had expired a day before( i know its pretty convenient) but anywho she had a replacement computer sent to her and it is a hp pavillion a6200t and she was told that this new computer was supposed to be better than the one she had but when you compare the two its like comparing apples to oranges for one it has an intel celeron processor and windows vista home basic. She owns a small business and she needs to get all of her data off of the old hard drive and most of that info is in My Documents so my question is how do you transfer data from xp media center to vista? and the old computer will not boot at all so you cant use the file transfer option on vista. any help would be appreciated.

Pull the old hard disk out of the computer and put it into an enclosure and run it as an external hard disk. Once Vista sees this "external" hard drive, you should have no issues dragging and dropping files.
