I recently purchased the new Sony Viao VGN-A130P with Windows XP Home. Out of the box it was filled with useless programs, so i deleted a few, and added some codecs. I was anxious to try to GigaPocket tv recording program, but to my dismay it did not work.
The computer came with a "TV coaxial converter cable" and a port input labeled the "VHF/UHF port". I connected the coaxial cable, and followed the proper setup procedures, but when i tried to view the actual tv picture, all there was was a blank screen, and audio. I noticed that the audio from the channel i was on was not what the station was supposed to be.
Also, while trying to play a video clip on Windows Media player, two days ago, i also got a blank screen and just audio. I had installed Divx Pro 5.1 and i had been able to watch divx movies, but it all stopped about two days ago. I cannot watch GigaPocket tv, wmv files, mpeg files, or any other type of video file, or wma files. I have tried opening these files on various other programs, but to no avial.
If anyone has had these problems, or knows what these problems are, and can help me out it would be greatly appreciated. I have already rebooted my computer with the recovery disks i made, and still no video or wma. Im really confused, and im thinking about sending the computer back. Please help!

Try updating to the latest version of media player, or reinstalling. Download the codecs from microsoft and overwrite all of the old ones.
