From my experience, the best advice is to avoid such programs like the plague. YMMV.

I have been using the free version of Glary Utils for a couple of years and it is great, also the free Advanced system care is good as well.

The only problem is you need to install it before the free period expires , 15 hours now. :(

    Thanks +REP

I've been using the free version too for a while. It's pretty much like CCleaner. I would only recommend this program to those who know what they are doing.

But if you know what you're doing, why do you need a program to do it for you? Doing these "things" by yourself ensures you know exactly what you've done so you can undo it if needs be.

 You are right. The functions can be carried out separately. It doesn't have to be One-click.

I dunno I know what I am doing for the most part, but software like this helps with stuff you can't really do yourself. For example, it be pretty hard to clean some of the useless, unneeded registry files manually.

Assuming they REALLY are unnecessary. You are putting a lot of faith in some application that is not telling you what it is actually doing behind the scenes, or preparing any sort of backup in case what it does screws up your machine. The idea that these "useless, unneeded registry ENTRIES" (not files) are causing issues, is an urban myth.

If you can't do it your self, it probably shouldn't be done. Because there will be no way to redo it if needed. This is why folks gave the earlier advice that these sorts of apps should be avoided like the plague.

How does it compare to TuneUp Utilities 2010?

This x 9000. All of these "System Optimizers" are such a scam. They end up doing more bad than good.

Still doesn't make me feel any more "warm and fuzzy" about it. I think these optimizer apps are a waste of time often doing nothing other than provide some placebo effect for the user.

I dunno I found CC cleaner to do a better job at cleaning temporary files vs disk clean up that comes with windows 7(Chrome and use a lot cache around 300mb every week I do a clean up). The registry thing maybe a placebo thing, but Glary does have a solid file shredding software, and file retrieval.
