This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Is there any way to use the Gmail Gadget without having to run Google Desktop? I really like the gadget but I don't like having Google Desktop running in the back all the time. If not, are there any other email gadgets with similar functionality as the Gmail Gadget?

    Thanks, but I'm looking for a gadget that can read my mail as well. I think all those tools lead me to gmail if I try to read my inbox.

    I used to use Digsby for gmail. Though it serves also as AIM, twitter and facebook for me.
