    Guys,
I have had a Mac all my life and with that I used MobileMe and it worked great with my PC, Laptop and iPhone.
I have now switched to a Sony Vaio Z and love it but I am having issues with using MobileMe and wondered if Gmail would sync better with a PC on Windows 7.
I want to be able to sync everything with outlook, mail, calenders, contacts and also my iPhone.
So what is everyone else using and the question is Gmail or MobileMe?????

    Note I have both accounts

If you're not doing any "cloud" syncing, then either will be just fine, though you won't have to pay for GMail. I use Microsoft MyPhone with my Windows Phone, but that won't sync wirelessly with an iPhone seeing as how they're competing services. I'd say go with GMail. GMail has push IMAP mail services, and outlook will sync contacts/calendar events through iTunes. Plus GMail isn't $100 bucks a year.

Uh, can you explain this, cause I don't understand how itunes gets mentioned in here.

One way is to use Google Apps Sync for Outlook.
This requires google apps premier though, which costs $50 USD per user per year, I think you get a 30 day trial period. I have no experience using it.

    That's where iTunes came from.

The way I was describing it was he can have push IMAP straight to his iPhone over EDGE/3G and have outlook configured the same way, so that when he reads a message on his iPhone, it marks it as read in outlook also. Then whenever he plugs his iPhone in to sync/charge, all his contacts/calendar entries get pushed from outlook through iTunes, to the iPhone. It's not as "easy" as MobileMe, but it works and it's free.
