Hi,
I have a Gateway M-1626 which comes with Vista 64 bit as the default software. Through my company, I get a copy of Windows 7 when it comes out as an iso image that I have to burn and install. This means that I would have to do a clean install right? Also, does Gateway need to make drivers compatible for 7 in order for me computer to be 100% or will the Vista drivers work?
Also, certain hardware won't work with Vista 64, such as my TI Calculator and my Olympus Voice Recorder. Will this be fixed in Windows 7 64 bit? They work fine with Windows XP 32 bit (only reason I am dual booting is because of these two) and Vista 32 bit.
Thanks for the help.

1. Gateway most probably has nothing to do with the drivers needed - the component manufacturers do. Very little drivers out there will not work correctly at Windows 7 launch.
2. Look into the Vista->7 upgrade system.
3. Are you sure they don't work, as in searched-for-drivers? Pretty sure TI offers 64-bit ones out there. -
For notebooks, I've found that it is usually best to use OEM drivers rather than the component manufacturer drivers (at least when first moving to a new operating system). When moving to a new operating system, if one doesn't use the OEM drivers it can be very difficult when troubleshooting BSODs, conflicts, and the like. Even using Vista drivers from Gateway would be best when making the switch to 7, IMHO. Once things work without error, then look for drivers elsewhere (if you feel it necessary).
