Going to sleep after 2 minutes regardless of settings?

Posting here because I think it's more of a Windows 8 issue than a Sony issue. I've had a Sony Vaio S laptop for about 3 months. No matter the power plan or sleep settings once the computer goes to sleep once (currently after 1 hour) and is woken up, it goes back to sleep after 2 minutes of inactivity.

I've gone through the Windows 8 settings, the Nvidia graphics settings, and the Intel graphics settings. All indicate that the computer should only sleep after 1 hour, never hibernate, no screen saver. Different power plans result in the same thing.

Needless to say this is very frustrating, especially at work when multitasking and turning around to a blank screen which also shifts all my windows away from my external monitor and back to laptop screen only. Any ideas?

Are you running any third party programs that may override Windows power schemes? Anything like BatteryCare, perhaps?

Nope, nothing. Computer is pretty much stock except for MS Office and Adobe CS. Think it could have anything to do with the Sony dock? I keep this thing docked when I'm in the office and the dock connects my external monitor, ethernet, printer, and mouse.

Try un-docking and see if problem still exists.

There's certainly potential for that. Remove it from the dock and see if you can recreate the problem.

It's definitely dock related. Problem only happens when docked. Once the problem starts I can wait 2 mins for it to fall asleep, then undock it, redock it, and the no more problem. Still a pain though because taking it off the dock switches all my windows over to the laptop screen.
