Any recommendations for good video editing software? I'm completely new to this and I have taken a lot of videos here in Costa Rica, and I would like to splice them and add some music to the background. Any easy user-friendly (free if possible) software that I could start out with?

Thought I would mention that all of the mentioned editors require some smarts on your behalf. Windows Movie Maker is the easy one to learn but very limited in scope. Let us know which one you pick and how it went with your editing. Maybe you can post some of your vids on youtube or vimeo for us to see.

I know I'm a little late to the party here, but I've always like Adobe Premiere Elements. I edit all my vacation footage and family videos in Premiere Elements, very powerful, yet not overly complex.
