This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Good choice password protect app?

    Anyone know of a good choice in either freeware, shareware, or really cost effective software/app which will allow you to set passwords for both folders and files? Not trying to find something so sophsiticated a real hacker couldn't unlock but something good enough to secure stuff from the average curious or nosey person.

    You could just use a seperate login and encrypt the files using Windows.

    You can just hide the folder, then unhide it when you're back on.
