Microsoft has just updated its Windows Marketplace site and they now offer Vista w/ SP1 already integrated for just $13. The disc does not include serial number but you can use the number on the back of your notebook to install the OS.

" If you purchased and downloaded a full or upgrade Windows Vista edition with your digital locker at Windows Marketplace, you are eligible to order Windows Vista backup discs."

lots of places to download it.. just look around. you still need a key to activate it so while some dont like the idea i feel it doesnt matter where it comes from since i know i still need a valid lic code to use it...ive had the real rtm full install disc since feb

I'm getting pretty darn tired of hearing that there are "plenty of places to download" Vista. Stop talking, or get an infraction.

The backup dvd's are only for the retail versions of vista and not the OEM versions.
-
So what you`re telling me is that I can get a DVD with Vista and SP1 for 13$ when I can already use my DVD that came with the laptop and download SP1 for free?

I know , it`s what I said. So basically I`m paying 13$ for a free download just to get it slipstreamed in an already owned Vista

Also for upgrades....not sure if it'll let you do a full install without your lod OS disc.
Good news: You can now order Vista w/ SP1 integrated for just $13
