Some of the ones I've seen are only 32bit compatible. What is the best temp monitor for 64bit. Also, what is the best for 32bit in case I change.
Oh, and should I dl something to measure GPU temperature? I read in one of the posts to use Riva, but not sure if I should monitor GPU and CPU/HD temps.

notebook hardware control is a good progam, google it and download.
-
I thought I read somewhere that it only works for 32bit vista
-
Just did a Google search and found Speed Fan 4.32 - added a digitally signed 64 bit driver (fully tested under Vista 64 bit) This is a Beta release though. If I was running Vista 64 bit, I would try it.

bump any more?
-
Yes. yes. yes...
But programs that work under 64bits nothing... ?
notebook hardware control dont work with me, says something about driver not found...
if someone know how to mesure temps in vista 64, please say something
Thanks -
Speedfan for Vx64 frequently hangs.
-
Have you tried this one, its plain and simply but seems good.

Speedfan requires it to run as an administrator to gain access to sensors.

I use Speedfan for cpu temps and Nmonitor for my gpu temps both work like a charm and most importantly both have a graph over time feature to monitor temps so that you can run full screen applications like 3dmark and come back after and see how hot things were.
-
but neither get GPU core temp...

im more than sure the temp on nmonitor is the core temp

I'm running the newest version of Speedfan right now without any problems at all. In fact, I have it start up when windows starts and then I minimize it to the tray so I can always keep an eye on my temps.
-
hmm I havn't seen any1 recommending IQ8Fangui..
it's actually working in x64 if you disable driver signage request in boot-up (or permenantly like I did). -
I'm not sure if I can trust Speedfan on my laptop (Inspiron 1520 T7300, dual boot Vista 32 bit/Ubuntu 64 bit)
On the Dark Side I am trying out different system monitoring programs. I have Speedfan 4.32, Hmonitor 4.3 (trial version), Intel TAT 2.05 running.
Under minimal load I get the following temps:
Speedfan 27-32 C
Hmonitor 46-49 C
TAT 48-50 C
I ran a workload test through the TAT software, at 100% load Hmonitor and TAT where pretty much reporting the same values, peaked at 80 C. While Speedfan was consistently reporting temperatures 12-16 C lower. At the peak of 80 C, Speedfan only reported 64 C.
While Speedfan is free personally I am not going to use it and will be removed post haste. Hmonitor I think is around $25 - $30 US.
On the Ubunutu 64bit side i'm running the Ksensors package, I haven't searched for anything else yet. I was running a FE model generation program the other night that was pegging the output at 82 CI killed the job.

I'm trying to find a replacement for Notebook Hardware Control so I can control the speed stepping. -
Has anyone used SensorsView? http://www.stvsoft.com/

I am not sorry to revive an old topic.
I an trying out replacements for NHC as sp1 has some issues with it (atleast on my machine). currently I am testing coretemp, which seems to work nicely (and has a much smaller resource usage than NHC, though I am not sure if it will start up as administrator ( on bootup) even though i set the options in the shortcut... -
RMclock is a good NHC replacement. Are you on 64bit?
-
i use hwmonitor without a hitch....picks up both core cpu temps, gpu temp, and hdd temps...64 bit vista too..
Good temperature monitor for 64bit Vista?
