Yep. But he didn't specify which beta he had.![]()

there are things i dislike about chrome. i dont like its cut copy and paste features. where you have to make sure your cursor is in the box say you want to highlight or use select all you have to make for sure your in that box or it highlights the whole page, or if i try to highlight one line its sometimes tough to get it to do it right then if i copy it and go to paste there is nothing there its blank. other than a few quirks though i really like it. also some login boxes and things dont display correctly they are shifted to the right of the page at times

I downloaded chrome on my Laptop recently and it's defianately faster than FireFox. But I don't like it, I don't know why it just feels awkward. I'm to used to FireFox I guess. Haha.

But it is not recommended to set it to true, since it is still a bit buggy, according to many
cheers ... -

Since they changed the bookmark system, I think I'll give Chrome another shot.
Edit: Oh well. Back to FF. -
okay another issue.. my mouse scroll wheel no longer scrolls. with firefox and ie and opera if i click the wheel down it will scroll with the mouse chrome will not do this. also will not scroll in my verizon email boxes up or down i have to use the slider on the side. thats annoying..the wheel does scroll but i have to manually move it for it to work it doesnt show me the circle with the arrows like ff3 does if you know what i mean
-

imo that sucks. i use that all the time. i guess imo chrome isnt ready for prime time yet. i do really like it and will leave it installed but i have to say ff3 is still much more well rounded. now ff3.1 rocks. pretty much just as fast as chrome with nothing missing..
-
-
i know but it has way to many quirks. i can pm people on certain forums. it would not let me download opera.exe it said it was not available but ff let me download it no problem etc..
-
I agree Chrome isn't ready to be my main browser, but it's getting there. -
hmm it refuses to let me download opera and a few other things that ie and ff are fine with..
-
Is anyone having trouble with youtube? Since I downloaded the newest (out of beta) Chrome youtube videos no longer load...?
-
I've been using Chrome pretty heavily. My only complaint is that it's hard to organize the bookmarks.
-
YouTube loads fine for me. -
-
the new dev build is running great for me where the first regular release had some quirks.. ive been using it instead of firefox for almost a week now. i like it a lot
-
I'm so glad I finally gave Chrome a shot....was a long time Firefox user, but Chrome is just so quick and simple, i love it.
-
ive almost totally switched over myself to chrome. i only use ff when chrome cant render a page right but i love chrome
-
gosh, this guy only works on XP sp2, what do we SP3 buddy should do?
Looking forward to a SP3 version
I'd like to try it very mcuh! -
-
Me wants linux support!
-
Agree with zfactor, Chrome has replaced FF with about 95% of my browsing. Only a select few pages that Chrome doesn't render correctly.
-
Does Google Chrome have a Downloader Add-on like FireFox? (So I can download streaming videos from youtube, for example).
-
that im not sure of but i know there are programs for that you can use same for real player etc..
-
-
Free Download Manager is releasing a version with Chrome support. Their website says Jan 1....
-
it looks that it's time to try and install one more browser.
added to IE, Opera, FF and Safari... Opera will be still the primary one though.
edit: well, yes as said... Opera still wins.i must admit that i really like this feature preventing the whole application from crashing, when one tab does. i'd love to see this in Opera. but i'm missing some essential features like being able to block content easily. showing most visited sites in the new tab is a good idea... but i prefer being able to edit such a startpage.
anyway, it seems to be a good start for Chrome. -
chrome is gaining users so fast you will very soon see add ons and features being added trust me..
-
hehe, i hope so.
i like new things, rather for testing pursposes (i'm a terribly curious person and wanna know how everything works). and as it seems that major browsers' authors are willingly taking ideas from each other (see tabbed IE etc), most probably Chrome will have missing features sooner or later.
who knows what will make a difference between browsers then besides the logo..? -

I wish they would fix the issue with it being incompatable with Hotmail.
Chrome doesnt reconise the text box when trying to write a message, so you can ttype!!!
Not for me, i use AIM Mail, but my mom+grandmother could use it to speed up browsing on thier slow PC's. But both use Hotmail.

nice. i've just found googleupdate.exe (or what) in my startup. ugh
if it wants to update, okay, but why not while the app is being launched or when i tell it to. no need to have another process running all the time, not mentioning in startup!!
minus points for chrome... startup entry deleted. -
Download HERE -
thanks ahl395, i'm too lazy (and angry) to reinstall
but it's good to know that there is such a stripped version. but never mind... since removed from the startup, it won't bug me anymore.
there is also no "check for updates" thing in the menu; it seems that only the "about" item will tell you if it's up to date or not. but fair anough; most probably a feature, not a bug. -
Right now I am using the vista aero theme for FF3 with the glasser add on with the personal menu add as well. The personal menu allows one to cut out the menu bar in the aero theme and the glasser makes it transparent. I mean, this is freaking beautiful when you combine those two ff addons with the aero theme. I have have about 20 FF themes and this one really looks good. My point is Chrome has a long time to go to catch up with the arsenal of FF and all its toys. -
Yeah, to update you have to go to about and then it will tell you if there is an update.
Actually, the update server is down right now apparently. -
The standalone version also strips away Google Gears, which is a plus for Chrome imo, so don't use the standalone version if you want Gears. All you need to do is delete the task in Task Scheduler. -
There isn't official themes from Google, but from others there is. I find Chrome to look sexy with graphite transparent aero with Vista. And of course Chrome has a ways to go. It's a few months young, where as Firefox has been on the scene for years. -
Are you running the latest version? Hotmail was recently overhauled and since then it's worked for me. -
