Is behavior different based on the OS?
I have an email with a fedex tracking number.
On Vista, Chrome highlights the tracking number and links it directly to the fedex tracking page.
On XP, it's just plain text and I have to click on the tracker link and copy-paste the number.
I don't think I changed any default settings in Chrome.

It's possible. I know Firefox 3 installs with different colors based on your OS.

Thats interesting. Google Chrome is where its at. I am running XP and Vista on different systems with Chrome and don't notice a difference outside the title bar not working properly in vista with aero turned on.

Maybe it's optimized for Vista? I don't really know.
