For some reason, Google maps will not work correctly on FF3 for me.

I've seen all the Skype fixes and all that... I don't use/have Skype, yet my problem exists.

Here are some images that might explain more.

I'm not sure what the "gapp not defined" is or means. I tried Googling it to no avail. When I go to Google Maps, the first image is all I get. "Loading."

I'm using all default settings, no add-ons or extensions.

FF3 is still quite buggy. In the meantime I'd stick with FF2.

Google Maps works great for me in Firefox 3. I'd guess that your Javascript security settings are set too high? The Options | Content tab has a few settings. It's possible that your Norton security software is interfering, that's actually the most likely suspect.

I'm using default settings for everything, except history.

Also, Google Maps work fine in IE7, even with Norton.

I've been having the exact same error in FF2 for the past 2-3 days, and the equivalent error in IE 6. My first instinct was to clean up the cache (thinking that maybe I picked up a damaged .js file). On that that's on a laptop without any antivirus installed, so that assumption is off too. Maybe some XP or Office update related issue? Don't remember if there were any FF2 or plugin updates.

Oh and there's no gapp object at all in the JavaScript received (checked in Firebug), but there is gApplication and it is null. To recap, for people who'll have a hard time googling a google error :) the exact error in FF2 is:

    gapp is not defined
    http://maps.google.com/maps?q=googl...F-8&rlz=1B3GGGL_enUS280US280&um=1&sa=N&tab=wl
    Line 2"

and can be repro'd just by going to http://maps.google.com

IE6 normally just shows a little icon and "Error on page" in the status bar, but if you click on it, details have:

    Line: 2
    Char: 33909
    Code: 0
    URL: http://maps.google.com/

If someone knows how to get a fast response from Google Maps folks, feel free to copy&pase this to them.

Other than Google Maps and Hotmail not working properly, FF3 has been a dream for me.

These definitely aren't killers by any means, but it is kind of annoying.
