    Hi everyone,

I have a small issue since the last couple of days. For some reason, the google chrome screen resolution is messed up (please see attached pic). Please note the notscripts icon or the g+1 numbering. They used to be sharp, with clean straight lines but now they are not.

I don't remember doing anything weird. Two days back I was watching netflix, the video got stuck and so I had to restart the chrome browser. Since then it's been like this.

The laptop screen resolution itself is fine. nVidia settings are fine and as normal. I have tried changing the default settings in chrome for page zoom or font size but it doesn't help. I have tried uninstalling/re-installing chrome but it didn't help either.

Also the webpage contents within chrome are also bigger now (my laptop screen resolution is 1920x1200). I can adjust the webpage display size though using the zoom function but the chrome browser window, omnibox, bookmarks tab etc are all bigger and don't change at all.

Does anyone know what is the problem and how can I fix it? Thanks in advance.

If I recall, the solution is to disable the DirectWrite font rendering that was introduced with Chrome 37.

And how would you do that?

I tried couple of steps mentioned in the other thread but none worked for me either.

And this "On the Compatibility tab, select Disable Display Scaling On High DPI Settings, and then click OK. This causes the text in the application to appear clearer." doesn't work either. I tried this yesterday when I found this tip on Google search.

Thanks again. I did try all the suggestions from that thread, but none worked. I guess I just have to wait for a sure fix (or a chrome update)!

Or just use another browser until it's fixed.

You should submit a bug report to Google, as if your issue is unique, and no known fix has worked, they may not be aware of it.

Can we see a larger image showing more of the issues? Also, what is your screen size? 1920x1200 at how many inches?

    Hi everyone,

Just noticed that the issues seems to have resolved. I don't know if Google Chrome got an update, but this is what I have right now - version 37.0.2062.103 m

Attached a screenshot of the same icons. And you can clearly see the difference in the notscripts icon now - back to crisp and sharp.
