The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Google search bar shrank and cannot access gmail after update to IE 8

    Please help me to fix my google search bar that shrank after installing internet explorer 8. :(

    Solved it already! Thanks to Google support!
    Here's the steps I did:

    1) Chose Tools in the menu bar
    2) Clicked Internet Options and selected the Advanced tab
    3) Under the Browsing section, I removed the tick from "Enable visual styles on buttons and controls in webpages"
    4) and click on OK,
    5) PRESTO! Google search bar went back to normal :)
