I know this isn't a notebook but still you might be able to help.

i decided to try windows 7 myself so i downloaded it, installed it and am currently posting this message from it. my desktop uses an ATI Radeon 9600TX but it reports that windows has stopped it because windows reports there are errors.. any help? atm im on 1024x768

did you get a new driver from AMD? I believe Vista drivers should work fine with Windows 7.

i tried to install the catalyst program that apparently has vista drivers for my graphics card and then windows 7 wouldn't start.

I was getting error messages with the driver stopped with ATi card in my desktop. So i updated to 9.1 drivers and I haven't had a Blue Screen since then.
