    Yes, but doesn't it immediately give up its use of the CPU as soon as some other app needs it? I was under the impression it runs at a very low priority so as to minimize its negative effect on other process threads.

    In addition, when you're not using the desktop dreamscene automatically pauses, thus minimizing its CPU usage.

    It only uses 20-30% when you are doing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING
    if you are doing anything else it pauses the dreamscene

    the landscape link seems to have issue with "free" slot??? and the "ready to be downloaded message" [The download link has been updated (error: #10).
    You may now download the file.] keeps looping back to the "queue"

    to enable sounds in dreamscene:
    right click on the sound icon in the taskbar
    select "sound mixer"
    there should be a sound setting there for windows dreamscene

    im using vlc to play the videos... and it works fine now.. BUT.. the video never reaches across the entire screen... i have a black border around the top and right sides of the video.... my native resolution is 1440x900... is that the reason why?

    If you are on Vista:

    Right-click on the desktop, select Properties.
    Choose Destkop Background (I believe that's right.)
    From the drop-down, select Windows DreamScene.
    Finally, use the Browse button to choose the location of videos.

    Then just click on the video and the change is instantaneous. You do not need an extra player to use these as a background.

    You might have to change some settings in VLC to get it working
