If you look in your Device Manager you will notice that your hard drive has an option for advanced performance.....

    From the NBR Tips/Tweaks Guide:

"This option isn't available to all. Newer systems are automatically set to run in AHCI mode through the BIOS and utilize a program called the 'Intel Matrix Storage Manager'. Together, these already enably higher performance of your system and prevent you from 'Enhancing Write Caching' on your own. You may be able to check it off but when you exit and return, its unchecked again. Don't panic!!! Thats just the way it presently works."

Here is the thing, I DO have the ability to enable this.... and it stays checked. Does that mean something is not installed or.......?

I know my laptop supports it because before it used to uncheck itself.....see signature for laptop details..

    Thanks!

Intel released an update to the drivers that finally worked with windows caching.

I would not enable the last tick box for extreme performance as it disables checking if a disc write has been successful which can corrupt the filing system in the event of a crash or power loss, it also does not give much of a performance boost.
