    HD upgrade & using Recovery CD

    Hi
    I am planning to upgrade my HD on my laptop but I m wondering if I am still be able to use the recovery cd or the OS that comes with the laptop. I heard it has to be the same hard drive that was shipped with the laptop isnt?

    Nope, you shouldn't have any problem with that disk.

    I change my HD and still using my old OS.. no problem.. :)

    There is no problem. I do it in one friend's computer and the OS worked perfectly

    If you don't want to re-install, you have the option to clone your existing install to the new hard drive. Any free HD cloning tool will work. I've used HDClone with success. This method allows you to keep everything setup the way you have it now, without having to re-install your OS.
