Hi there, I have a sony FW 140D (ATI 3470, 256mB), it has VGA out and HDMI out, i tried plugging in the HDMI and VGA, however when you do so one of the screens shuts off, either it being hte laptop or vga screen.
The only possible combinations are
Laptop&HDMI
Laptop&VGA
HDMI&VGA
however having all three at the same time doesnt work. Does the ATi 3470 on the laptop not have enough power to run all three, i think i have the latest driver installed, any advice?
running vista 64
Thanks

Yes, most graphics cards (aka all but a few select desktop cards) can only output to two monitors at any given time. That is because the GPUs only have two video output buffers, not three.

well, that was simple
thanks
i guess i'll have to get one of those USB -> VGA/DVI devices, -
Three monitors. That sounds like fun. One of my friends has four monitors and that has tempted me to get two more myself.
