Had to do that on a buddy's system two weeks ago. That link works, but don't download the software they offer unless you do not want to edit the Registry like they describe. But if you're okay with the Registry edit, then go ahead ... it works.

Do you have multiple logins to your computer? As in, one for you, one for wife/brother/father/etc.?
If so, you may need to start by logging in as administrator and fixing it, then logging in as every user and running the fix again.
In my years of fixing spyware, many of them require this.

Because if you run the fix in one profile, there are often still spyware keys/files hiding in the other profiles. Most of the better anti-spyware programs (spybot, adaware) do scan all the profiles, but if you have a piece of spyware they can't find, then you have to go thru all profiles manually.

Also, you need to TURN OFF System Restore before running any spyware fixes. Because the spyware WILL hide in the system restore. The downside of this is that you LOSE all your previous system states and will not be able to go back to a previous resotore point after you do this. (But since they'd be f'd up with spyware anyway, it's not a big loss)

Unfortunately yes. In fact there was one "popup" that always said you need to scan your computer for spyware, Click Here and when you did you got a free scan, but to remove what was found you had to buy the software. And in one case, those items found were bogus.

At least in the case of the spyfalcon removal software page they give the registry items that need to be removed and I know that works. As someone else said, you have to boot up in Safe mode and log in as Administrator. But if you're not comfy with editing the Registry, get someone who is or you will have to buy the software.
