I purchased a notebook with Vista Home Premium last October. I was unhappy with some of Vista's quirks, so I created that ini file that tricks Windows Update into installing the Beta SP1.

Everything was fine, however I just received a mesage advising me that I have 11 days to back up my files an re-install Windows. Is there any way around this without having to re-install? The copy of Vista on my notebook is a legitimate OEM version.

Check to see if you have a restore point that should have been created when you installed Vista SP1 beta.

I can delete the Beta SP1 without having to do a system restore; or without having to format my HD and re-install windows?

What's the easiest way to solve the problem?

I wouldn't have installed the Beta SP1 if I know this would happen...

How do you delete the Beta SP1?

I looked in the Control Panel/Programs and Features however I couldn't find the Beta SP1 listed...

Should I do a system restore?

Go to add/remove programs & check ''show updates''. Then find SP1.
