What OS do you have? I'm assuming Vista since it's newly bought. Go to the Control Panel, click "Change keyboards or other input methods" under "Clock, Language, and Region", then click "Change keyboards...", and click "Add...". Select "English (United States)" and make it a default.

    Done! :D
