    hi,

i sometimes experience the blue screen crash. i get this with both windows vista and xp on my sony vaio computer. i have no idea what it means but i have been taking lots of snapshots when i see the error. sometimes i get bad_pool_caller, sometimes NON_PAGE_FAULT and the error code seems to be the same

I suggest you start with Memorey check program such as memtestx86 or gold memory

Seems to be issues with the HDD. You should check ur Event Logs for any clues and possible fixes. And u might want to backup ur critical data that u would want. Incase the OS doesn't start up anymore.

click the link on my avatar for the "Get bsod"

It will check where the problem is.

I agree to run the memory test.
Also, is your OS up-to-date with the latest service packs and other updates?
What security software is installed, if any?
Have you done any tweaking? If so, what?

You could also try making sure your BIOS is up-to-date. Disable any devices (in BIOS or in device manager) that you don't ever use (maybe modem or card readers or something).

Also, uninstall extraneous drivers. For example, my mouse works fine with Windows' built-in mouse driver, so I don't use the Logitech drivers. You can probably do that with a bunch of peripherals.

Also, here are some instructions for analyzing BSODs:
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showpost.php?p=3439189&postcount=4

This should at least tell you what driver or OS component is having the problem.

EDIT: I forgot to mention, you should also scan your drive for viruses. If you don't have an AV, or if you want a second opinion, you can use the online scanners at the NOD32 and Kaspersky web sites.

    hi there,

i ran the windows memory diagnostic and it says no errors have been found. does anyone know when the memory diagnostic will end or do i have to manually click X for it to end?

i still expereince the BSOD from time to time with the same error message
