    Hey all,

I'm trying to decide which OS would be right for me (my laptop comes installed with MCE, but I have a university copy of Pro already), but I can't seen to find any clear cut docs at to what the differences are between the two (aside from the MCE MediaCenter thingy)...does anyone have an idea on that???

    Thanks,
    night_2004

*MODS: If you want to merge this thread with the sticky thats fine...but I wanted to get this question out there...

Windows XP MCE is based upon XP pro. Of course, becasue it has 'media' related features, namely the media center (I don't know what else is different about it) it is sold with 'entertainment' focused notebooks.

If you are used to doing a lot of tweaking and alteration to windows, XP pro is probably better. There are also some networking advantages to pro.

I think they're almost the same too, maybe all the extra functions in pro are the ones you will never get to use.

well, I can tell that MCE allows remote desktop connections to the PC...that means at least some of Pro is in it...

Anyway, what are some of those advantages to networking in Pro that MCE doesn't have? I might not care about them, but I do want to know...
