    Doom3 vs. HL2
I just started to play D3. I have played HL2 two times.
I am curious which game do you think is better?
I like the story line of HL2 and look forward to the episode release in May. Doom seems to not have a strong story line.

I haven’t played much D3 but I do enjoy playing HL2 occasionally. But my favorite game is Day of Defeat Source (DODS) but it runs off of the same graphics engine as HL2. But this really belongs in the Gaming section.

HL2 is a better game hands down. I started playing Doom3 made it about 4 hours and couldn't bring myself to bore myself again(I only paid $5 for it from a friend who did the almost the same thing). The novelty of great graphics went away quickly and there's just not much to the game after that.

Doom 3 was hard for me to get into... I first picked it up when I was very much a n00b gamer, so the whole ammo conservation thing raped me up the ass a couple times. I tried again a few months ago and managed to get about halfway through it before fighting the same opponants over and over and over again got to be insufferably boring.

Doom 3 didn't have much of a plot. Just some good graphics and guns. I play HL2 over and over again. Best 80$ I ever spent (I got the collectors edition with CS and HL1 and a free t-shirt). Doom 3 is okay I got it on discount @ EB games. 20$ and I was there. The Expansion Pack (Resurection of Evil) is actually better than the original.

HL2, no question. I'm not a huge fan of games, but I do love my Half Life. I played Doom 3 when my son had it, and although it was intense, I didn't enjoy anywhere near as much as HL2.
